About 40 Nigerians
repatriated from the U.K. in the monthly repatriation exercise arrived in Lagos
on Wednesday, Lawal Isah, Head of Immigration at the Nigerian High Commission
in the U.K., has said.
The repatriation of the Nigerians is jointly
organised by the Nigerian High Commission and the U.K. Border Agency.
Mr. Isah said in London that the returnees were in
two categories – those without legal rights to remain in the UK and those who
have been repatriated after having served various prison terms.
He said two officials of the High Commission and
the U.K. Border Agency usually accompanied the returnees.
A similar exercise last month also saw 40 Nigerians
being repatriated from the U.K. and Ireland.
