Man Arrested Over Facebook Threat To Kill Gamawa

Men of the State Security Services (SSS) have arrested 20 year old Jibrin Magaji in Gamawa local government area of Bauchi State over threat on facebook to kill Senator Babayo Garba Gamawa and his daughter if he refused to grant his monetary request.

A security source in the SSS confirmed the arrest of the suspect, saying the “suspect was arrested at the weekend after we received the report that the man sent a request to Senator Gamawa who was a onetime Bauchi State deputy governor”.
The source said the senator reported the matter to SSS who investigated the matter and arrested the suspect inside a toilet in Gamawa, saying the suspect had confessed that it was poverty that led him to make the threat and he will be handed over to the police for further investigation and prosecution.
He advised people to stop accepting friend request from the people they don’t know on facebook and other social pages.
Effort to speak to Senator Gamawa failed as he had travelled out of the country. But a closest friend and an associate to the senator, who craved for anonymity, confirmed the incident.
