NASA Explains Why The World Won’t End - Video
If you made plans on how to spend the last remaining days of Earth’s existence, forget about them. Humankind is safe. At least, according to US space agency NASA. The organisation is confident that the much-hyped apocalypse will not happen on December 21 as – so say some people – is predicted by the Mayan calendar. That is why the space agency has released a video ten days ahead of schedule entitled “Why the World Didn’t End Yesterday”.
Planetary and astronomical experts dismiss any theory claiming that the sun will irradiate the atmosphere or that a planet will smash into the Earth. The video was scheduled to be released on December 22 but it was put online on December 12.
At the beginning of the video a phrase reassures everyone that our precious planet is fine. “If you are watching this video then that means one thing: the world didn’t end yesterday”.
An interpretation of the ancient Mayan calendar suggested that the end of the world would occur on December 21, 2012. Since the word spread, various theories have been developed regarding the Earth’ s future and how the planet will meet its doom; all those doomsday theories are challenged scientifically by NASA experts on the film.
