University Professor Shot By Gunmen, Gateman Killed

An Associate Professor and Head of Department of Public Administration, University of Calabar, Mr. Felix Akpan, was over the weekend shot at a relaxation joint in Calabar.

The gateman was killed while the hoodlums tried to escape.

DailyPost gathered that the gunmen struck when some school officials were having a meeting with representatives of a new generation bank on the update of the hydro-power project and the necessary things done so far by the university to secure a loan for the project from the bank.

The gunmen, it was gathered, gained entry into the place and went straight to the meeting point. One of them identified the HOD and the other brought out a gun to shoot him on the head but luckily, the bullet hit his hands.

The 70-year- old gateman who attempted to close the gate when he heard the gunshot attracted the wrath of one of the assailants, who immediately shot him at the dead.
