Dangote Gives Two Billion Naira To Urban Poor

Towards providing affordable housing for poor Nigerians, Dangote Group has donated N2 billion as revolving loan to the Federation of Urban Poor (FEDUP), a non-governmental organisation, towards the development of social housing.

The announcement of the donation was made by a special adviser to president of the Dangote Group, Mr. Joseph O. Makoju on behalf of the Group at the Stakeholders’ Forum on ‘Housing for the Poor: The Federation of Urban Poor (FEDUP) Perspective’ held in Abuja.
He said that the donation is meant to assist the urban poor in building houses of their own and can be accessed by FEDUP members through the Federal Ministry of Lands, Housing and Urban Development.
Speaking at the occasion, Minister of State for FCT, Olajumoke Akinjide, said the FCT Administration (FCTA) is conscious of the crucial place of housing in the hierarchy of man’s needs.
