The Electric Chair can kill in inmate
with less than 2,000 volts -- but Dr. Peter Terren lets 200,000 volts
pass through his body in just 15 seconds.
He calls this pose "The Modern Thinker" after the famous Auguste Rodin statue, "The Thinker."
Believe it or not, the amateur physicist said that he wants to convey the concept of the modern electrical age with the barrage of electrical interference in our lives.
Terren told the newspaper that he wraps his torso, arms and legs in insulation and wears a tin foil cap under a wig, along with a wire mesh mass. The sparks coming off his foot are from steel wool stuck to his shoe. And believe it or not, he says it was all painless.
