The Nigerian, Mr. Obinna Ugboaja, was reportedly killed on January 5, by the police when drugs were found in his possession.
Ugboaja was said to have been arrested by the police and detained when he allegedly attempted to swallow the substances.
He reportedly died 30 minutes later in detention.
The incident sparked off protests by the Nigerian community in Western Cape, South Africa, on January 18.
The Nigerians condemned the killing and demanded justice.
It will be recalled that last week, the Nigerian House of Representatives also passed a resolution demanding an investigation into the incident.
Mamabolo gave the assurance in Abuja at a meeting with the Chairman, House Committee on Diaspora, Mrs. Abike Dabiri-Erewa, and her members.
The envoy claimed that lack of adequate information on what transpired in South Africa could send the wrong signals.
He noted that what Nigeria and South Africa needed, was to work closely together as the front line states on the continent.
