The Rumour Of Dimeji Bankole's Death Is False

Former Speaker, House of Representatives, Dimeji Bankole
Contrary to rumours, early Thursday morning, the former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Dimeji Bankole, is not dead.
Mr. Bankole’s family, friends, and colleagues said that the rumour is false.
The former Speaker, his family said, is in Abuja facing his businesses and is in good health.
In a similar vein, Mr. Bankole’s former spokesman, Kayode Odunaro, debunked the rumour and attributed it to the handwork of mischief makers.

"I am not aware of such, I know he is hale and hearty, and no evil befell him, as he is doing fine. The rumour is the cooked up story of mischief makers, who have turned social network to a tool of misinformation," Mr. Odunaro said.
Similarly, Akeem Akintunde, a childhood friend of Mr. Bankole, said the story is a mischief. He said once he heard the rumour, he called the former speaker.
"I have just spoken with him and nothing is wrong with him. He is doing fine. The rumour emanated from desk of mischief makers, but I can tell you that it’s all false," Mr. Akintunde stated.
Tunde Oladunjoye, the ex-speaker’s ally at the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, also confirmed that the former speaker is alive.
"Bad belle people! I just spoke with Dimeji Bankole now for 17 minutes!" he wrote on his Facebook page. A PT correspondent went to Dimeji Bankole’s father’s house in Abeokuta and the vicinity was in a lively mood.
His father, Alani Bankole, expressed surprise at the rumour saying his son is not only alive but is in perfect health.
